"Feathers of chicken, duck and goose left over from a meat processing factory are washed, dried and dyed into bright colors to make them into new birds. These birds are handmade in a northern town of China using recycled feathers. Unlike a toy, they are realistic and there is an attractiveness you don't see in other stuffed birds. This item was simply birthed out of impulse instead of out of practicality or from the results of market research. If you wanted to describe what kind of company Puebco is, this series of birds might do the job. We introduced the first bird in September of 2008, since then the collection has slowly grown to where we now have around 30. This item is the first product we produced ourselves."

By using recycled materials and hand made processes, PUEBCO imbues these objects with the feel of many lifetimes, and a sense of history that makes each piece unique.
Since its founding in Japan in 2007, the brand has operated on the premise that the most interesting materials are those that already have a life behind them. Puebco works with salvaged and reclaimed sources — recycled military tents and clothing, decommissioned mail bags, truck upholstery, and repurposed parachutes — redesigning them into garments, bags, rugs, and home goods and bringing new life to the materials. Items are made in small batches to keep overproduction minimal and each run intentional.
