In a textile town in India, I found a specialty store that deals only in scraps. The bright neon colored fabric is from the sari, the traditional dress worn by Indian women. A sari is a single piece of cloth 5 to 9 meters long that is wrapped around the body, making the fabric thin and light. It was not strong enough to be used for making bags, so the lining was made from white toweling fabric.

Material: Polyester, Cotton, Used Belt
Because the fabric is thin and delicate, there are some parts where the threads are loose or twisted, creating holes. Because the lining is made of towels, the pile may be sticking out or frayed. The belt is used and may be dirty or yellowed. If exposed to direct sunlight or fluorescent lights for a long period of time, it may fade or discolor.
